Federico Aguilar Alcuaz (June 6, 1932 - February 2, 2011) is a Philippine painter known for his modern abstract works, visual arts, painting, sculpture and mixed media. He was conferred the National Artist award by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in 2009.

He was born in the City of Manila, the sixth of
eleven children.

For his primary and secondary education he
went to public schools. He took two college
courses simultaneously working towards his
degree as Associate of Arts in San Beda College in the evenings and working towards his Fine Arts degree in UP in the day. His teachers at UP included Fernando Amorsolo, Guillermo E. Tolentino and other distinguished Philippine artists such as Toribio Herrera, Ireneo Miranda and Constancio Bernardo.


Alcuaz' artistic career spans some 55 years.
His best works are said to be those he produced from the mid 1960s to the late 1970s. His talent was recognized not only in Spain and the Philippines but in Paris, with 3 major awards. He has exhibited in Spain, the Philippines, Portugal, Poland, the United States and Germany.
